Coconut puff

Creamy Coconut Puff is one of the many yummy pastries one should try out


  • Warm water
  • 2cup coconut milk or fresh grated coconut
  • 2 1/4 teaspoon dry yeast
  • 1/2- 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4- 1/2 Tablespoon salt
  • 1 cup coconut flakes (optional)
  • 4-1/2 cup flour
  • Vegetable Oil for deep frying
  • Nutmeg or cinnamon

  1. In a bowl,  add all-purpose flour, cinnamon or nutmeg, and sugar
  2. Put yeast in warm water and allow to rise for about 3min
  3. Stir in coconut milk/wash fresh coconut with warm water until lumps disappear
  4. Add coconut flakes (optional) or sprinkle after frying
  5. Set the mixture in a warm area and let it rise and double in size for about 1- 2 hours
  6. Heat oil in deep pan then drop batter by tablespoons into hot oil Most Importantly, Do not overcrowd the pan, fry in batches
  7. Fry until golden brown
  8. Remove with and drain on paper towels.
  9. For more sweetness,  you can sprinkle the powdered sugar on your Puff after frying together with the coconut flakes.
